Welcome to the DBT Society of SA website.

At The DBT Foundation, we are committed to equipping mental health professionals with the skills and knowledge to deliver Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in high-impact, under-resourced settings. Our training programs are designed for clinicians working in NGOs, NPOs, and government-funded substance use treatment services—where the need is great and the resources are few.

We believe that access to evidence-based, life-saving care should not be a privilege. By strengthening the capacity of frontline professionals, we aim to make DBT accessible to vulnerable individuals navigating emotional dysregulation, trauma, and addiction. Together, we’re building a future where every client has the chance to build a life worth living.

Healing the brokenness through acceptance and change

Support the Frontline of Mental Health Care Across South Africa, countless individuals battling addiction and emotional distress rely on under-resourced rehabilitation centres for support. Yet, the social workers and mental health professionals in these settings often lack access to specialised, evidence-based training like DBT. With your support, we can change that. Your donation will directly fund DBT training for clinicians on the frontlines—empowering them to provide effective, compassionate care to the most vulnerable. Invest in a future where every person, no matter their circumstances, has access to skilled mental health support and the chance to build a life worth living.
